Overview

Spare the Dead is a vibrant metalcore band from Arkansas, fusing the technical edge of progressive metal with soul-baring melodies and attitude. Known for their explosive sound and unforgettable live shows, they balance introspective, healing lyrics with crushing breakdowns—delivered by a bassist who literally came back from the dead.

Logo Design

The band’s primary Skeleton Wordmark Logo transforms the name into anatomy itself—“Spare” forming the ribcage, “the” as the spine, and “Dead” as the hips. This emblem became the face of their self-titled debut album.

A secondary horizontal logo (Below) was also developed—gritty, hand-drawn, and semi-script—evoking the feel of crossed bones to form the wordmark. Together, the logos give Spare the Dead a distinct visual identity that matches their balance of chaos, precision, and theatrical flair.

Their self-titled debut album features Spare the Dead’s signature Skeleton Wordmark Logo as the centerpiece—an emblem that fuses anatomy and identity.
